Ilena,

Unweighted GPA and SAT/ACT scores are the primary academic statistics that colleges use to make initial determinations. Thus, I do not think you will be flat out rejected based on your GPA and SAT scores. Whether you ultimately get accepted is a completely different story, however, which depends a lot on extracurricular activities and accomplishments.

I hope this helps. Please do not hestiate to post follow-up questions or comments.

I was also wondering.. I know schools like Harvard and Brown
have to find some way to just eliminate some applications?
Clearly they wouldnt accept someone with a 1200 SAT, regardless of if
they have a 4.0 GPA..
But they wont just flatout eliminate my application because
of my GPA/SAT, right?
How do they narrow down the number of applicants?
*I'm also very interested in inventing things.. but I overall want to pursue
a career in the medical field.

Oh and I forgot to mention,
I'm looking
at Harvard, Princeton,
Brown,
Columbia, Cornell and Stony Brook.
I see that the panel of experts include harvard and princeton admission officers.
So, would you please mind asking them?

I know though.. with the increasing number of applicants, they might
have changed their admissions policies..
like I've heard in the past, they were interested in well-rounded applicants,
now they want more angular students who show a passion for something.

Hii I'm really scared..
I have a 3.5 GPA and a 2290 SAT.. I also go to a very competitive school.
I took my hardest classes junior year.
There is an upward trend after I realized my work ethics suck and I needed to change that.
as well as really good extracurriculars, awards, recs, leadership positions etc.
I'm just worried about my GPA =/

I'm also in the process of creating this website that i think will
really benefit the general public. It's something like wikipedia,
except probably better!
