Susan,

Try tackling the long passages as a series of short passages: read one paragraph at a time, answering the questions associated with each paragraph as you go. Save all of the general questions for the end. I hope this helps.

Matt,

I simply kept lists of words when I was younger. Doing so worked for me. Flashcards are a good idea too, however. If you enjoy being quizzed, you are free to use ePrep's free WordSmith Challenge. You can access the WordSmith Challenge from ePrep's home page. Good luck.

Hi Karl,

Thanks for the great advice. I have to take the SAT in a month,
what is a good way to study words, just look at them a lot, or
flashcards, or what?

Thanks

Matt,

Most of the linked passages involve opinions or arguments. I usually exaggerate the opinions or viewpoints to better understand the differences between author 1 and author 2. This usually results in me having an easier time with the questions. Also, read the question prompts very carefully. I think the most confusing prompts are found in the two-passage sections.

Give my advice a try and let me know how it goes.

Karl,

I do okay on the critical reading part, except for the
last ones that have questions regarding 2 passages. Are there
any methods to understand those?

Hemin12,

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I am sure you can do well on the CR. I suggest you select the "Reading" category in the right navigation column of ePrep's blog site. It will pull up a bunch of blogs on CR. Good luck. Please do not hesitate to post follow-up questions, if you have any.
